shannon lee is, for the most part, a culture writer and editor.

her interests include porosity, taste, decay, labor, asian american identity, subjectivity, sounds, mugwort and other introduced species, land, solidarity, fantasy (both mimi and dnd), conspiracy, myth, off-cuts, hyperspecific beefs, horses, cookbooks as manifestos... that sorta thing!

she has written about art for over a decade, interviewing, profiling, and otherwise covering artists such as anicka yi, bill traylor, carlos villa, choe u-ram, kyungme, lee pivnik, mary mattingly, mel chin, meriem bennani, nam june paik, tauba auerbach, and vivien sansour, among others.

she has spoken at bard college, pratt institute, nada new york, asian american journalists association, and the asian american international film festival.

she is trying to get better at sending out this newsletter.
